From the reviews
This is a legit dojo! I've studied marital arts under many disciplines and places. This is by far the best experience I've had. I've seen good ones but Sensei Drago has clearly worked hard and he humbly passes on his experience to anyone who shows up. This is classic Okinowan Karate in full form and very rare today.
When I was younger, I was pretty out of line, rambunctious, and what many would call a problem child. My Sensei and this dojo gave me an outlet, a goal, and a sense of purpose. Not only that, but my Sensei taught me discipline and how to properly deal with my emotions, while giving me a safe environment to do so.

My son has been a student of Sensei Drago's for over 6 years. This dojo is a great and safe atmosphere for kids.Sensei Drago has been a great instructor, and my son has not only learned the art but has learned how to be disciplined which he will be able to use all of his life.
Your first judo class at Front Royal Karate & Judo Club
Nervous about walking into a judo dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good sensei expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, learning to fall safely (ukemi), then drilling a throw or two and some groundwork with a partner — not hard randori. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a judogi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner judogi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own judogi. Live randori eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
