From the reviews
I joined box classes at this place three months ago and very happy with them. Work-out is never boring, you feel challeng every time you come. They are better than anyone else with a proper warm-up for all muscle groups at the beggining of each workout and their great attention to the correct technique.
I was introduced to boxing in this gym by my friend and got hooked pretty fast. The workout is challenging and intense. The coach Maryan makes focus on technique of each student. It's been three months I attend the classes and I feel the progress not only in boxing but my stamina and strength got way better as well.
My children have been doing judo in Kara Judo for 2 years now. Oleg Sensei is a real professional. Kids just dream about training. Thank you Sensei.
I have regularly been attending Boxing Classes with Maryan for about two months now and I can honestly say that I am getting the best value for the training that I have ever had in Houston. Maryan actually very diligently teaches you how to box and how to properly move.
Your first judo class at Kara Judo, Sambo bjj
Nervous about walking into a judo dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good sensei expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, learning to fall safely (ukemi), then drilling a throw or two and some groundwork with a partner — not hard randori. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a judogi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner judogi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own judogi. Live randori eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
